Zendala Dare #76

I took an Adventures in Zentangle Class this past Sunday with Lisa Heron, CZT, of the Zenned Pen. I always feel more creative after a class. There are a lot of patterns here that we practiced then, including knase, meer, and cadent. I had some questions for Lisa about positive space, negative space, and tonal value that she helped me with. I feel like I understand these a lot better and was able to employ them here. I don't think those things are important to Zentangle, but I found it meditative to consider these factors as well.

  1. Was this a prestrung tile, or is the string part of the dare?

    1. It's the string from the dare, but I had a lot of space left on a blank Zendala tile so added the ring on the edge.

  6. Great composition. Looks like Lisa did a great job of mentoring you, But knowing her from training it does not surprise me. Your line work and shading are superb. It really makes things stand out. You used the negative space well.

  7. Very nicely done, and the added extras of thinking about the positive and negative spaces and tonal values really paid off!
